Fans of the Dragon Spirit arcade game may be familiar with Amul and his quest to rescue Princess Alicia from clutches of the evil serpent, Zawell. However, our brand-new webcomic re-imagines the series in more ways than one, beginning with the introduction of Nida, Princess Alicia's trusty bodyguard.

In the comic, Nida's first introduced when the king summons her to court, where she's tasked, alongside Amul, to rescue the Princess. However, it becomes readily apparent that she'd just as well go it alone, and cares little for her new companion. Unfortunately, dealing with Amul remains a challenge she'll have to overcome, one way, or another -- and for his sake, let's hope it won't be at the receiving-end of her mace.

Take a look at Nida's original line art by Dragon Spirit artist Steven Cummings. The initial design featured a cropped haircut (top left), which was later revised in favor of Nida's awesome no-nonsense ponytail.
Nida's entirely capable of handling herself in battle, and her prowess is second only to her pride. To find out whether or not she can set aside her differences, and learn to work as part of a team, catch the latest installments of Dragon Spirit every Sunday only on ShiftyLook!
