If you are attending this year's San Diego Comic-Con, surely you know that there are exciting announcements going on left and right. At ShiftyLook, we know that you expect some from us too, and we don't disappoint! If you already read our current strips (Bravoman, Wonder Momo, and Dig Dug are some of our favorites; if you don't know them already, go check em out!), you know the quality you can expect from the ShiftyLook project. Over the course of the day, we'll annouce our latest ShiftyLook comics which remingine classic Namco titles, but we have something all new on the way as well -- the premiere of our first two animated web series, but more on those later! First let's take a look at our latest additions to the ShiftyLook comic line-up!
We're super psyched to announce three new webcomics debuting this year! First up is Golly! Ghost! coming in July, an eccentric arcade shooter from the 90s that keeps you blasting to keep supernatural denizens out of a haunted house (wait, nothing about that makes any sense). Written and drawn by Chris "Elio" Eliopoulous (Yo Gabba Gabba), this one's got a quirky style that echoes that Slimer feel. You know, where the ghosts constantly harass you and give you a hard time for being alive?
We proudly introduce a beloved franchise to our webcomic series in August: Klonoa. Written by Jim Zub and drawn by well-known manga-ka Hitoshi Ariga, this strip will breathe new life into the PlayStation platformer in a classic manga style.
In September, you can watch out for Dragon Spirit, adapted from the notoriously hard 80s shooter of the same name. Written by Jim Zub (Wonder Momo), you can expect this strip to take a comedic approach to the traditional fantasy genre, by adding a bit of tongue and cheek to the mix. If you'd had enough of the usual fantasy tropes, Dragon Spirit is going to have you laughing from the very first panel.
All these new comics will be available on ShiftyLook.com for free later this year. Keep an eye out for our games section as well, launching in a few months with free-to-play arcade classics, leaderboards, and more!
